Keeping Dreams Alive

I believe in dreams-you know those deep from your soul dreams? I believe it’s these dreams that help keep us focused, working hard and motivated to see real change.  Sometimes, however, our dreams take years to come to fruition. In the meantime, we bide our time, make adjustments and seek to keep the dream alive. Someday I hope to have a brick and mortar retail store where all the lovely Elevāt products will have a place to shine.  More importantly, there will be space to tell the stories of each artisan group; to share their dreams with our customers.  That’s what this is all about. I’m not just selling jewelry and scarves.  I’m trying to impact real women’s lives in a powerful way.  Sharing their dreams and telling their stories is a great way to make this happen.

Because we aren’t at this point yet, I often do pop up shops in my area. It’s a way to let shoppers see and touch items for themselves in a way an online shop just can’t do. Unfortunately, that often means getting a single table at these events on which to squeeze as many products as possible, picking and choosing which ones get displayed this time. You can see why the idea of displaying all of Elevāt’s products in one place at the same time is exciting to me!

While I dream of an actual shop, I also found a temporary solution to showcase our products in a store-like setting.  I’m turning my son’s old room (he moved out last year) into an Elevāt showroom! Down came his posters, and up went our jewelry displays. I think you’ll be amazed at the transformation!

We will launch the showroom next weekend, Dec. 8th from 10am-2pm. We have free ornaments to the first 10 customers, raffle drawings for free gifts, and of course, holiday nibbles and drinks. It’s easy shopping for gifts when we know our holiday dollars can help bring positive change in the lives of others in need.

I’ve always had an entrepreneur’s spirit. The idea of STARTING something, building something is exciting to me. Unlike most entrepreneurs, however, my dream isn’t about making a profit. It’s about making a difference. I’ve surrounded myself with like-minded people; giving souls who are invested in Elevāt because they CARE. This is why 100% of our profits go back to artisans in developing countries.
