Meet Elevāt

Julie Johnson

Co-founder + CEO

As a mother to three children, I can't imagine the pain of not being able to put food on the table for my children.  In my travels to over 25 countries, I have discovered that no matter the color of your skin, the clothing you wear or where you are from, mothers everywhere desire the same things for their children—safety, health and education to live up to their full potential.  Elevāt gives women living in poverty the chance to provide for their families in a safe and dignified manner.

Ben Peres

Co-founder + CFO

I have worked in the finance industry for the past 12 years. My paradigm on business was forever altered after reading Creating a World Without Poverty by Muhammad Yunus. The idea that every person has the power to change the world with their everyday purchases has made me think about business in a whole new way. Upon completion of a Masters Degree in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship, I knew the type of company I wanted to help create. That company became Elevāt.

Brennen Johnson

Creative Director

Travel. Create. Teach. Lead. These are the desires that push me forward to do more. Through my travels I have come to the conclusion that it is the responsibility of those who have more to help those who have less. I do whatever I can, whenever I can, wherever I happen to be. That's why Elevāt and I are so aptly suited for each other. Through my involvement with them, I have been able to take something I'm passionate about (creativity) and use it to help women all over the world do what it is that they are passionate about. And that is a beautiful thing.

There’s an important reality I get excited about in this profession: we’re creating a story together. You’ve got your stories, and I’ve got mine, and the magic of what happens in photography is when our stories overlap. Being a part of Elevāt means I get to connect my heart with my art and help tell the stories of women around the world.

Kirsten Slyter

Copywriter + Content Marketer

After completing an internship with Elevāt using my communication skills to benefit the artisans, I knew I wanted to continue to use my talents to help tell our artisans’ stories and showcase their products. It is a privilege to represent these hard-working women and help better their world.

Deb Rohloff

Community Events Coordinator

I am so excited to be able to promote Elevāt, our products, and our mission to the community. I really enjoy planning Elevāt events and participating in sales because I am passionate about the women we serve. I am also a wife, a mother of two beautiful children and enjoy working with children as the director of CE at my church and through the PTA in my schools.
